My art almost always evokes some type of Abstract Landscape, some more literal than others. I have worked in multiple mediums: Oil , Oil+cod wax, Pastels, Watercolor and mixtures of all the above. Five years ago I took a Monotype workshop in VT and quickly fell in love with the process because of the unpredictability of the results and similarity to painting. Last year I began experimenting with creating digitally. I started with work on an iPad and, in the last 6 months, expanded to an experimental process I call Digital Combines . I take objects or images I have created intentionally - but more often than not - by accident while creating another painting or print. I take these elements and compose and combine them to create a new piece that I then photograph - the end result being a Digital Combine , named after the amazing Combines of Rauschenberg from the 50's and 60"s. You can find my combines in several locations on this site.
My subject matter is of remembered landscapes as well as imagined places. Not all but many of my images evoke looking down - as out of an airplane. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did creating them.
